Corfu Town is characterized by intense Venetian elements, but also by many English and French influences. It is a cosmopolitan city that exudes a sense of nobility, with main attractions the great Esplanade Square, which is the largest square in the Balkans, the Old and the New Fort, City Hall (Theatre San Giacomo), Cannon, Mon Repos and Museums Byzantine and Post-Byzantine History.

Perhaps the most famous sight is the small island in front of the Cannon, which is connected to it by a small strip of land on which stands the church of Our Lady of Vlachernon and the famous Mouse.
